A heat loss calculation works out how much heat each space loses through its walls, roof, floors, windows and ventilation. The result tells you how much heating output you need to stay comfortable on a cold day.
Oversized systems cost more to buy and run, and undersized systems leave people cold. For heat pumps in particular, an accurate calculation is essential, because they work best when sized correctly.
